Headteacher's message

I am delighted to welcome you to Hermitage Primary School’s website. We aspire for children to be the best they can be, leading an active life, promoting health and well-being, achieving success to help them make their dreams a reality.

Our vision is that children are nurtured to be Safe, Happy, Inquisitive children, who Never give up and are Enthusiastic and Successful- because together everyone SHINES.

Our village school prides itself on the delivery of a creative and inspiring curriculum that is designed to stimulate the learning of all pupils. All children possess unique skills and experiences and we aim to value and challenge these equally.  We firmly believe that the emergence of a child's interests and academic abilities is best supported by an environment that nurtures, rewards and celebrates achievements promoting a life-long love of learning.

We are really proud of our Ofsted judgment as a ‘GOOD’ school. We continually strive to improve and build on this; working in partnership with the whole school community- pupils, staff, governors and the wider community.

Our overall aim at Hermitage is that our pupils leave us as confident, enthusiastic learners prepared to face the challenges that lay before them in their life ahead.

Almost 80% of UK schools receive contributions from parents to help support the education of their children. At Hermitage Primary School, we kindly asking for voluntary financial donations from families who are in a position to help. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. Your generosity could help us maintain the enriching activities, and learning environments that make our school such a special place for our children.

The funds raised will be used to cover the costs of some vital resources, such as:

  • £400 per year for classroom furniture
  • £5,000 per year for stationery and materials needed to deliver the curriculum
  • £4,000 per year for IT learning resources

For those parents/carers that can afford it, please consider pledging £10, £20 or £30 per month via this link. One-off contributions are also most welcome, and can be made using the same link. Gift Aid is available on all contributions meaning that the school can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give.
