Learning Information
Here is some information about what we will be learning throughout this year in Hedgehog class. For more information on the curriculum your child will be studying, please contact your class teacher.
Autumn
In the autumn term we will be exploring the exciting topic of Healthy Heroes and Vile Villains. We will be looking at the lives of significant individuals in the past who have contributed to national and international achievements such as Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale, making timelines based on The Gunpowder Plot and thinking about Remembrance. We are hoping to meet some real-life heroes such as nurses, doctors and firefighters to enhance our learning.
Spring
In the spring term, our topic is Carnival of Animal. We are comparing where we live to similar places in Kenya. We will also look at the animals found in the UK and in Africa. A trip to Marwell Zoo will enhance our learning.
Summer
In the summer term, our topic is "What is 'Great' about Great Britain. We are learning about the different countries that make up Great Britain, their traditions and we will look at famous places in those countries.
